The implementation of measurable social value initiatives is at the heart of our participation on the Scape Regional Construction framework.
Dedicated to Lot 3 - South West Midlands, we deliver construction projects up to a value of £750k for public sector partners throughout the region, which reaches across Warwickshire, spanning Nuneaton, Rugby and Leamington Spa. Utilising a trusted local supply chain, we provide a broad spectrum of services ranging from new build and extensions, to risk management and post occupancy support.
Our social value programme is planned and measured, from design to delivery, and centres on a ‘Social Innovation Fund’ worth a % of the contract turnover. The sum is then invested in community projects and social enterprise spend to help tackle key social issues in thematic areas or to address local priorities.
As an example, we are working in partnership with Helping Hands, providing a monthly financial donation, the equivalent of two weeks’ worth of food, to the charity which supports vulnerable and homeless people. Meanwhile, we have devised robust strategies to measure our social value success, adopting the National Social Value Portal’s ‘Themes, Outcomes and Measures Matrix’ to demonstrate the Social Return on Investment.
Since our appointment as a framework partner, we have completed a variety of projects, ranging from a kitchen extension and asbestos removal at St Peter’s PS in Barford (£184k) to a classroom extension for Coleshill PS (£240k). Currently, our locally based team is undertaking a classroom extension at Ferncumbe C of E PS (£320k).
