GRAHAM successfully delivered the Fofanny Clear Water Tank for Northern Ireland Water, significantly improving the security of the water supply for approximately 76,000 customers across County Down, including Kilkeel, Rathfriland, Castlewellan, Dromore, Newry, and Warrenpoint. This £9 million upgrade provides additional water storage during periods of high demand and essential maintenance works, ensuring a reliable local water supply for many years to come.
The Fofanny Clear Water Tank project, involved the construction, testing, and commissioning of a 10 million litre reinforced concrete tank. The project also included the installation of associated pipework and instrumentation, under pressure connections to existing structures and pipelines, and the installation of 1,000mm, 900mm, and 600mm pipelines at depths of up to 7.0m. Despite the challenges of ensuring uninterrupted water supply and working in a scenic, rural setting, the project was successfully delivered, enhancing water supply security for approximately 76,000 customers across County Down.
