Trusted with a much loved Irish brand, we adopted a concept produced by Schweitzer Design and incorporated it into a space by our architect Ostick & Williams, to handover a modern and fresh flagship Dunnes Store. This was Northern Ireland's first new Dunnes Store concept.
Carried out under a management contract, the fit-out took place over two floors in a live trading environment with the busy Forestside Shopping Centre.
The work included the phased enabling, alteration and refurbishment works to the existing ground floor, as well as creating a mezzanine level which increased the store size from 27,000 sqft to 48,000 sqft. There were also mechanical and electrical works throughout and the creation of a new atrium to facilitate a feature entrance to the flagship store.
Our phasing plan allowed for 50% of the store to trade during the first nine weeks, before handing over the completed half and a full new floor that increased trading space by 80%. Temporary access tunnels, smart hoarding, and branding also contributed to the retailer not losing any trade during the fit-out, even though only 50% of their store was trading.
