Project Overview

Client: University of Manchester

Programme value: £175m

Duration: 2016 - 2021

Status: Live

Building on our long-standing relationship (2011) with the University of Manchester (UoM), we were appointed to Lot 4 (£4m-£10m) of the University’s five-year Construction Works Framework in 2016.

As one of three contractors selected for this highest value Lot, we undertake various types of construction works including demolition, new build, refurbishment, decoration and landscaping / external works. In supporting UoM create the UK’s biggest single site university, we restored the Grade II listed Coupland 3 Building – the original home of the Manchester Medical School.

This project allowed us to reinvent the large, vaulted spaces within the building, which had been lost over the years through alterations and additions. Before securing our place on this Framework, we partnered with the University in realising a range of modernisation schemes inclusive of refurbishment works to Hulme Hall Student Residences, The Simon Building and AV Hill Building.
