Managing Director, John Graham Construction Ltd
Alan has been instrumental in GRAHAM’s continued growth since joining the company in 1989. With over 30 years of construction experience, Alan has undertaken a variety of senior site and bid roles before his appointment as Managing Director of John Graham Construction in 1997, coinciding with his selection to the Board.
A Chartered Civil Engineer, Alan has accumulated vast knowledge of project, Joint Venture and business unit development. Over the last ten years he has focused his energy on GRAHAM’s long term vision, strategy and future direction.
Chairman
Michael Graham is the Chairman of GRAHAM and has been instrumental in establishing the company as a market leader in the construction, facilities management and project investment industries throughout the UK and Ireland.
Michael joined GRAHAM in 1989 and fulfilled a number of positions until 1993 when he was appointed as a main Board Director with executive responsibilities for the successful delivery of all Building projects.
In 1997 Michael took on the position of Managing Director of GRAHAM, a position he held until the creation of John Graham Holdings in 2007 when he assumed the position of Executive Chairman.
Michael is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Building and the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Managing Director - GRAHAM Investment Projects
John joined GRAHAM in 2012 as Development Director of the Investment division.
He has harnessed his commercial development background in the delivery of multiple projects ranging from £10m to £365m.
Passionate about driving innovation in the property and construction industry, he assumed the role of Managing Director, for Investment projects in 2020. In addition, he contributes to the strategic planning and development of the Group and has a strong interest in the environment, social value delivery and communications.
Group Chief Financial Officer
Courtney joined GRAHAM in 2008 as Finance Director of the Investments division having previously worked in Corporate Finance for Deloitte.
In 2014 he was appointed to the Group Board and also sits on the divisional boards of Construction, Interior Fit-Out, Facilities Management and Investments.
A Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Ireland, Courtney has overall responsibility for the finance and IT functions of the GRAHAM Group. He contributes to the strategic planning and development of the business as a member of the executive team with a strong interest in Data Analytics, Risk Management and Financial Planning.
Chief Executive
Andrew joined Graham in 1989 as a Graduate Civil Engineer, and held various roles in the Construction Division.
In 1997 he assumed responsibility for the Group’s Facilities Management and Investment divisions and was appointed to the Group Board in 2007. In 2021, Andrew was appointed as Chief Executive.
He is a Chartered Engineer and has 28 years of experience in the construction sector.
Managing Director – Civil Engineering
Leo is the Managing Director of GRAHAM’s Civil Engineering Division. He has over 30 years’ experience working in a variety of sectors throughout the UK, Ireland and Africa. He joined GRAHAM in 1999 as a Project Manager and was appointed as Board Director in 2009.
Leo provides strategic leadership and operational support to his sector leads. He has developed strong and long-lasting relationships with clients, stakeholders and joint venture partners and built the civil engineering business through sustainable organic growth.
He takes a lead in Civil Engineering Graduate training as well as the Health and Wellbeing programme which he has been able to bring to Highways England. Leo has helped to develop his colleagues through motivational life-coaching, which can sometimes be difficult as a lifelong Leeds United fan.
Regional Managing Director - Building North
Gary successfully leads GRAHAM’s Building North division in his role as Regional Managing Director. He brings more than three decades of construction industry knowledge and experience to the company. His impressive career has taken him from a time-served joiner to Regional Managing Director.
Providing strong leadership for his team, Gary brings strategic direction, people and project management, and extensive expertise to the thriving Building North division. Despite his senior role he is still a hands-on construction professional, with a regular presence on sites and excellent construction input.
A true advocate of delivering exceptional quality for clients, Gary has overseen the completion of a wide range of projects across numerous sectors including healthcare, education, residential and leisure. His continual building of positive client relationships has resulted in a high proportion of Building North contracts being repeat business.
An inspirational leader to young people and an advocate of training the next generation of the construction workforce, Gary dedicates time to attending the quarterly Building North Young Persons Forum and regularly liaises with teams throughout the business to keep up-to-date with employee development and training activity.
Beyond all of this, Gary is a key team member who puts people first and is committed to delivering projects safely, on time and budget, and to the exceptionally high standards expected.
Managing Director - Building South & Interior Fit Out
Jonathan joined GRAHAM in 2001. Throughout the years he has been involved in all aspects of the business from work winning through to aftercare.
In 2013 he was afforded the opportunity by the GRAHAM Board to build a business in England South and more recently the Midlands. Since then he has reshaped the business in England North and now has responsibility for the GRAHAM Building Business in England. This has been a resounding success with a turnover in the region in excess of £275m. Jonathan is employee focused and driven to make construction an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
