The Midlands Regional project staff recently all joined forces to establish a team for this year’s entry to Birmingham’s Dragon Boat Race. Coinciding with Birmingham Pride, both events took place at the Mailbox, Birmingham, where the electric atmosphere was in full swing for all attendees.

Team GRAHAM (aka ‘The Good Ship GRAHAM’) consisted of a crew of 17, captained by team skipper Dean Bradbury, Contracts Manager. Together they drew one round and won two, making them a force to contend with. On the canal side, the team was cheered on by GRAHAM supporters and their families and friends.

The annual charity event raises funds and awareness to support all the great work and services at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Our team made a pledge to raise a minimum target of £2,550 for this much needed cause.

Ronan Hughes, Midlands Regional Director
who championed the event said,

“At GRAHAM we’re passionate about supporting local communities by building meaningful connections with our neighbours and lending a helping hand whenever possible. Needless to say, the wonderful work of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital is something we deeply admire, and I’m delighted that we have already smashed our fundraising target with over £3,750 raised so far.
“I want to extend my thanks to the organisers of the Dragon Race for putting on such a fun and fantastic event, and of course, to my team for taking part and giving it their all.“
