“I’ve been with GRAHAM for over ten years and would absolutely recommend an apprenticeship. I started off as a technical apprentice and progressed to Project Manager working on rail, highways and bridge projects. An apprenticeship might not be a traditional route, but it equips you with the technical knowledge, while learning on the job.”
Karl Lomas is our first apprentice in the UK who has undergone five years at university, graduating with a first-class honours’ degree, and progressing to become professionally qualified achieving Incorporated Engineer status (IEng MICE).
Sean Withe said:
“There have been many times where I doubted myself and put the whole process off. Now, having completed my accreditation and qualifying with ICE as an Engineering Technician (EngTech MICE), I am excited to see what comes next in my career. I’d like to thank not only my colleagues but also the staff within ICE for helping me along the way!”

“I joined GRAHAM as a Professional Apprentice in 2021 and after three years of hands-on experience in the industry, I felt equipped to pursue my goal of becoming professionally qualified with the ICE as an Engineering Technician (Eng Tech MICE) member. The mentorship and support I received from my colleagues were instrumental in my success, and I am very grateful for their guidance. I am proud of my achievements so far and I am excited to continue my journey with ICE as I work towards becoming Chartered in the future”.
