Our commitment to developing the skills of its “young workforce” in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland has been captured in a Case Study video produced by Developing the Young Workforce (DYW).
DYW Dumfries & Galloway is one of 21 regional DYW groups across Scotland.
The DYW is the Scottish Government’s national strategy for strengthening links between businesses and education, and better preparing children and young people for the world of work.
We opened our Dumfries & Galloway office in 2017 and have completed a number of milestone projects in the area including the Dalbeattie Shared Learning Campus and Dumfries Learning Town (St Joseph’s College, North West Community Campus and The Bridge).
The short production, which can be viewed above, features our Community Benefit Advisor, Debbie Rutherford, who reaffirmed the company’s strategy to invest in local young people while creating the conditions for them to excel.
Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Ross Laurie, also explained how he has enjoyed “every day” of his one and a half year apprenticeship with GRAHAM. Ross is finishing his two-year Technical Apprenticeship in the coming weeks. We have
also supported Ross in signing up to complete a BSc (Hons) degree at Glasgow Caledonian University.
