Charlie House, Aberdeen - Graham Construction company raises £30,000

GRAHAM Construction company has raised an impressive £30,000 for Charlie House through a food and drink cabin for our site workers, as part of our commitment to support communities in the cities we operate.

Inspired by the Charlie House Bon Accord café ReCHarge, the onsite food and drink facility named ReCHarge 2 is located at the construction site of the Baird Family Hospital and ANCHOR Centre in Aberdeen.

Operated by Charlie House, the cabin has provided a selection of soups, sandwiches, bakery items, hot food, hot and cold drinks, sweets and cereal bars to more than 500 GRAHAM employees for almost two years, with 100% of the profits going towards Charlie House.

About Charlie House

The Aberdeen-based charity is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families in the north-east of Scotland. It delivers inclusive and accessible activities for families allowing them to engage socially, make memories and meet other families in similar situations, and also provides information as well as emotional and practical support for the whole family.

GRAHAM’s Commitment to Social Impact

In a bid to deliver lasting impact and raise vital funds for the charity, which will support its ongoing family services, GRAHAM provided the cabin, along with rent, utilities and maintenance, including upgrading the facility to meet the growing demand of the workforce from initially 60 staff. GRAHAM has recently signed up to the Buy Social Pledge operated by Scottish Enterprise Scotland, which demonstrates our commitment to supporting social enterprises.

Emma Leiper Finlayson, director of fundraising at Charlie House, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to GRAHAM for its generous support through the ReCHarge 2 cabin. The funds raised will make a significant difference to the families we support, helping us provide essential services and care. Thank you to everyone involved for their dedication and generosity.”

Bill Williamson, projects director at GRAHAM, said:

“Delivering lasting impact is a principle that shapes operations at GRAHAM and we are proud to support the invaluable services of Charlie House. The introduction of the cabin has greatly benefitted the workforce, enabling our staff to support a local charity at no additional cost."

“As an organisation, we are committed to making a difference by going beyond contractual obligations, which is why it has been extremely important for us to support the charity and young people in the North-east. We hope the funds raised will be able to further enhance the brilliant work they do.”
