A topping-out ceremony took place at the £60m Cornbrook development for Glenbrook, celebrating the scheme reaching its highest point of construction. The 235,000 sq ft
Funded by Barings Real Estate, the scheme covers 235,000 sq ft and comprises 98 one-bed, 168 two-bed, and 14 three-bed units, across two 15-storey buildings.
The development includes a ground floor convenience retail unit and landscaped public realm fronting Chester Road. For future residents the scheme will also include a rooftop tenants lounge, gym, studio and external running track all located on the 15th floor of the development.
The scheme, which is due to complete towards the end of 2020, occupies a strategic position between Chester Road and Cornbrook Metrolink station, on a prominent arterial access route into Manchester City Centre.
As part of the contract, pedestrian links are being improved around the site including a landscaped area along the front of the retail unit facing Chester Road, an enlarged footpath to the apartments entrance on Trentham Street and a secure car parking off Dinton Street.
Speaking about reaching the scheme milestone, Danny Roberts of Glenbrook, commented:

“The health and wellbeing of its residents has very much influenced the design and fit-out of the scheme, from the inclusion of a running track to the location of the shared areas which are located on the rooftop to maximise sunlight and views."
